Alonso on Aston Martin's first AMR26 fix step

Fernando Alonso says he is optimistic and “very proud” of Aston Martin as the team brings a major upgrade package to the Hungarian Grand Prix, describing it as the first step in fixing weaknesses on its AMR26. Fernando Alonso said: "I'm obviously optimistic, I'm very proud of the team, of the job that they've done since the Bahrain test when we understood that we had a problem, and we had to fix a few weaknesses on the car. This is the first step into those fixes, but there are more to come."

Norris on scrapping battery element of 2026 power units

Lando Norris says Formula 1 should “sack off” the battery element of the 2026 power units, arguing that some of the rules around how energy is used and recovered are “silly” and hard for drivers to manage. Norris said: "There are still some silly rules at times that just don't make any sense… there are some bigger issues that are very, very simple to fix, which I hope do get fixed over the course of this season and into next season. But there are still some things that just will be better if we just sack off the whole battery."

Liam Lawson says Racing Bulls have been looking into why he had a “big deficit” to team-mate Arvid Lindblad at the Belgian Grand Prix. Lawson said: "Overall, we should have an even stronger car, hopefully, this weekend. Obviously, for me, hopefully, it's a step closer to the other car because that was a big deficit last weekend, but I also can't sit here and say that it's just the upgrade that was different because it wasn't meant to be that big. Leclerc on going too far defending against Piastri in Belgium

Charles Leclerc says he went “a bit too far” in his defence against Oscar Piastri after the pair made contact while battling for third place at the Belgian Grand Prix. Leclerc said: "I kind of agree with Oscar, I think. At the end of the day, my view in the car is that I try to push things to the limit. With Oscar, it was a bit on the other side, so that's probably not the way I want to race all the time. It's also risky for me at the end of the day. You are always trying to leave the smallest place available. That was maybe a bit too far… Sketchy."
