Aston Martin flies in Stroll spares
Aston Martin is flying spare parts to the Hungarian Grand Prix so Lance Stroll can run its heavily upgraded AMR26 in Saturday qualifying after a left-rear suspension failure in FP1 left the team without enough spares to fix his car for FP2. Team representative Pedro de la Rosa said the issue was a suspension failure and that “because of the lack of spares, we couldn't repair the car on time with Lance”. Fernando Alonso said the upgrade “felt good”, with Adrian Newey also calling the initial results “promising”.

Leclerc on Ferrari needing perfection to stay ahead in Hungary
Charles Leclerc said Ferrari will need to "do everything perfect" to stay ahead in Hungary after a strong Friday at the Hungaroring. Leclerc said: "It's going to be tight tomorrow as always. I don't expect us to have the gap that we've had today, so we'll have to do everything perfect. If the feeling is there, I'm sure we'll do a good job in Q3."

Aston Martin team principal and design chief Adrian Newey said the suspected rear suspension failure that ended Lance Stroll’s running on Friday in Hungary was not in an area changed by the team’s AMR26 upgrade package, calling it “very unexpected”. Newey said: "Everybody is feverishly trying to understand exactly what went wrong and what happened as we speak, and it's only once we have an understanding that we can comment on what we do next. The area involved was actually not being changed... So there are some minor changes in that area. In that sense it was very unexpected."
