Isack Hadjar said he expects to start the Belgian Grand Prix from the very back of the grid after Red Bull changed his power unit. Hadjar said: "The goal will be to focus on race pace. We know that it will be less focused on performance in qualifying. We will probably start in 22nd [position]. But this is a circuit where it is possible to overtake. Many things can happen. We have a good pace, so I hope to have a lot of fun on Sunday."
Nico Hulkenberg says Carlos Sainz would have to settle for an Audi reserve role if he wants to join the team, because the race seats are not available. Hulkenberg said: "It's just typical summer F1 noise. I know in fact the team is very happy with Gaby and myself. We are only getting started - this is year one for us as a team. On top of that, contracts are very clear. I read some rumour stuff that related to Carlos… The reserve driver's seat is available, but I doubt that he would be interested in that."

Lando Norris says he is confident McLaren can still have a strong Belgian Grand Prix weekend despite taking a 10-place grid penalty at Spa after the team fitted a new fourth control electronics system to his car. Norris said: "We probably have a small straight-line speed advantage compared to the people a little further back, so we should have a good chance, but just to overtake in general, I think it could be pretty difficult here. So I don't have all the answers yet, but we know it is better than Zandvoort and better than Hungary to take penalties, so I hope it is not the end of my weekend before it starts, but I am confident we can have a good weekend."

Lance Stroll says Aston Martin’s major upgrade package in Hungary will be the key test of whether the AMR26 can improve, and that even the next Honda engine updates due at Zandvoort will not solve the team’s issues if it is still slow there. Stroll said: "I think Hungary is a good test. It's not a very power sensitive circuit, it's a chassis circuit, so that's the test. If we're still very slow in Hungary, then just the power that's coming in Zandvoort is not going to fix all our problems."

Honda trackside general manager and chief engineer Shintaro Orihara said the manufacturer is in the “last phase of development” on its 2026 power unit update for Aston Martin ahead of its planned introduction at the Dutch Grand Prix, with work focused on improving driveability with the gearbox. Orihara said: "That is still ongoing. The last phase of development is to improve driveability [along] with the gearbox. So we are now working hard to get better driveability with the new power unit."
Max Verstappen says Red Bull’s decision to shelve its rotating rear wing for the Belgian Grand Prix is the “wisest” call. Verstappen said: "I think it's maybe a little bit slower, but it won't turn the world upside down. It was pretty clear to everyone that this is maybe the wisest choice for this weekend."
