Red Bull driver Isack Hadjar says his next target is to be able to fight for a “real podium” after what he described as a positive start to the season and improved consistency in recent rounds. Hadjar said: "It's good, but at the same time I would love to have a race where I can actually fight for a real podium, and that's the next target."

Mekies on Red Bull's winless first half of 2026
Red Bull boss Laurent Mekies says the team “does not sign up for anything other than winning races” after a winless first half of the 2026 season, even though it has made rapid progress in closing the gap to the front. Mekies said: "We don't sign up for anything other than winning races. But I have to take the opportunity to say 'well done' to our people, chassis side, power unit side."

Bottas on brake fire causing pitlane stoppage
Valtteri Bottas said a brake fire burned through his Cadillac’s brake lines at the Hungarian Grand Prix, leaving him with no brakes in the pit lane and forcing him to stop against the wall. Bottas said: "The brakes, they get too hot, and it gets to the point that inside everything starts to burn, and that obviously destroys everything. And actually, on the in-lap, I lost the brakes fully because I think the brake lines must have burned. So that's why I had to stop the car against the wall."

Red Bull team principal Laurent Mekies says it is “difficult to imagine” the team will keep introducing upgrades at the same rate this season as it weighs up development of this year’s car against next year’s. Mekies said: "What is sure is that at some stage we need to make a call on the balance between this year and next year. As far as we are concerned, we have brought a huge amount of development to the car between race one and here, in order to try to correct as soon as possible the large deficit we had initially. It's probably difficult to imagine that we will continue that rhythm."
