Hungaroring tyre test for 2027 compounds
Alpine’s Franco Colapinto, Audi’s Gabriel Bortoleto and Aston Martin third driver Jak Crawford ran at the Hungaroring in a Pirelli tyre test focused on 2027 compound development. The trio completed screening and long runs on C3 options, with Colapinto and Bortoleto also evaluating C4 and C5 variants via qualifying simulations and longer stints. Bortoleto logged the most laps on Tuesday (141) but Colapinto set the quickest time, a 1m20.371s, from 128 laps; Crawford did 136 laps and a best of 1m24.598s. Colapinto and Bortoleto continue testing today.

Max Verstappen says he never doubted Mercedes driver Kimi Antonelli would make a big step forward in his second Formula 1 season and become consistently competitive, as the 19-year-old leads the championship after taking six wins so far this year. But for me, there was never a doubt that he would make a jump the year after and already be a lot more consistently competitive. It's normal in the progression of a driver.
