Newey on Aston Martin and Honda's closer working relationship
Adrian Newey says Aston Martin and Honda have built a closer working relationship during the 2026 season after what he called a “disastrous” start to their first year together. Newey said: "I think what's really progressed is actually the word you just used: relationship. Out of what can only be called a disastrous start, the positive of that, because you're always looking for positives, is that it's brought Honda and ourselves, AMR, into a very close working relationship. We continue to develop that in all areas. So, I'm very happy with the progress we're making from a relationship point of view. Normally, if relationships improve, then performance also improves."

Sainz on Williams being further from the top than expected
Carlos Sainz says Williams are “more far away from the top” than the team thought they were at the end of 2025, describing the gap as “an eye-opener” during a difficult 2026 so far. Sainz said: "But, time has proven to me that it's been obviously the opposite or the other way round, and that as a team we are more far away from the top than what we thought we were at the end of '25, so it's been definitely a character-building year for the whole team.
