Norris on taking Hungarian GP pole after McLaren upgrades
Lando Norris said he was confident he could take his first pole position of the season at the Hungarian Grand Prix, where he beat Lewis Hamilton by 0.012 seconds in qualifying after McLaren introduced upgrades. Norris said: "But as I sat in the garage, I knew the pace was certainly there. It has been all weekend. Even though these guys [Ferrari] have been insanely fast, I knew I'd been driving very well, I'd been consistent, and I knew the car had potential. We also had the upgrades this weekend, and it doesn't feel that different, but it certainly seems to be going a little bit quicker, and that's always a good thing."

Mayländer on all-wheel-drive safety car debut in Hungary
Bernd Mayländer says Formula 1’s new Mercedes-AMG GT 63 PRO 4MATIC+ safety car provides “optimum traction” thanks to being the first safety car with all-wheel drive, as it made its debut at the 2026 Hungarian Grand Prix. Mayländer said: "It is the first safety car with all-wheel drive. This provides optimum traction, which is particularly noticeable when combined with all the other technical features. It really comes into its own when cornering and accelerating. I am now looking forward to driving the new safety car for the first time under real-world conditions in Hungary."
