George Russell says adapting to the characteristics of Mercedes’ 2026 car feels like “a golfer changing his swing” as he works out how to drive it consistently. Russell said: "This year, we've seen a lot of trends that my style isn't quite suiting what the power unit needs, what the tyres need, and we're just needing to adapt the set-up to something that I've not really run before. It's kind of forcing me to drive a bit more consciously rather than subconsciously, which is also a bit of a negative... I guess it's like a golfer changing his swing – it's probably going to take a small step backwards first, and then you relearn that new swing and it's better."

Liam Lawson says driving Bruce McLaren’s 1966 Le Mans 24 Hours-winning Ford GT40 at last weekend’s Goodwood Festival of Speed was “very special” and a feeling he expects to never experience again. Lawson said: "For me, as a New Zealander growing up and learning about the history, working with people and having relationships with mentors who were close to, or knew, Bruce's and Chris Amon's families is very, very cool. So, yeah, it was very special. I'll probably never have a feeling like that again in a race car."

Kimi Antonelli says the run of DNFs and other issues in his 2026 season has been “very frustrating”, but insists it is part of motorsport and largely outside his control, speaking ahead of the Belgian Grand Prix. Antonelli said: "Of course, it's very frustrating. But this is motorsport, so things like this happen. Of course, I think now it's enough, but it's part of motorsport. As I said, these are external factors that you cannot really control. So I just need to maximise every opportunity I get, try to maximise what I have in control, and then we'll see what the rest will be."

Charles Leclerc says his Silverstone win is “only on one track” and that he is trying to understand why he and Ferrari were “much better than what we expected” there as he heads into the Belgian Grand Prix. Leclerc said: "For that, I need to work, so it's what I've been trying to do in the past few days: to try and understand, first, why we were much better than what we expected at Silverstone, in order to try and reproduce that more often in the future."
