Stella on McLaren upgrade gains after Norris Hungary pole
McLaren team principal Andrea Stella says it is “far too early” to call Lando Norris’ pole position in Hungary a turning point for the team, despite the MCL40’s latest upgrade package delivering the gains McLaren expected. Stella said: "I think it will be more about how many upgrades the top teams will be in condition to deliver so far, and for what's left of the season, because we are only midway in this season. So I think it's far too early to say whether this is a turning point for McLaren, or not. We just look at the facts... the pole position is a little bit of an over-achievement, thanks to execution and maximising the potential that was available."

Lewis Hamilton apologised for his "attitude" after Hungarian Grand Prix qualifying, after he was investigated for impeding Oscar Piastri in Q3 and later given a three-place grid drop. Hamilton said: "Yesterday was difficult. Forgive me for my attitude. I had done such a great session and then I got the call right at the last minute, so to then know I was going to get a penalty, was tough to swallow."
