Max Verstappen says the Belgian Grand Prix could be “trickier” because of energy-management limitations on the straights, but believes Red Bull’s strong record at Spa-Francorchamps offers hope. Max Verstappen said: "I think it could be trickier with the energy management limitations on the straights, but we have historically done well here, so you never know what will happen."

Fernando Alonso says he is “still having fun” racing under Formula 1’s 2026 regulations because he still enjoys competing wheel-to-wheel, despite previously criticising the new cars. Alonso said: "But I do enjoy competing and I do enjoy racing against the rest of the field. So, when I close the visor, I don't really notice anything new on the rules. I'm just fighting against the car alongside. And I'm still having fun and I'm still enjoying what I do. If I was alone on track, I probably would not enjoy much driving these cars. But because I'm with another 21 cars, I do enjoy a lot."

Charles Leclerc says the main challenge of the 2026 season has been marrying his “aggressive” driving style with this generation of Formula 1 cars, after making changes to his approach with Ferrari during the British Grand Prix weekend at Silverstone. Leclerc said: "I don't think it's with the Ferrari itself. I think it's more with this generation of cars. I've got quite an aggressive driving style in general. I think that has been a strength during my career. But then with these cars, sometimes you've got to be careful not going the other side because then the dip is quite big. You can start losing quite a lot of performance power unit-wise if you are not efficient."

Racing Bulls driver Liam Lawson says Formula 1 should consider a NASCAR-style “overtime” restart rule to help avoid races finishing under the safety car, after the British Grand Prix ended under caution at Silverstone. Lawson said: "In NASCAR they always do one more lap, I don't know if we could do that. Obviously we have fuel levels and stuff like that to manage. It's a shame to end a race like that under safety car. If there's a way that we don't do that, I think that would be great."

Ollie Bearman says rumours linking him to a Red Bull seat are “flattering” but insists he is focused on his current job with Haas. Bearman said: "I mean, first of all, it's quite flattering to hear things like that. You know, with a team like Red Bull who are incredibly successful. And to be connected with them in any way, even if it's just rumours, is very nice. But like I said, it's just rumours and I'm fully focused on what I'm doing here with Haas at the moment."

Charles Leclerc says a fine set-up detail he spotted in Ferrari’s data on Friday night at Silverstone helped him feel “a lot better” in the car after he had struggled earlier in the weekend. Leclerc said: "There was a moment on Friday night at Silverstone where I saw a detail, and I was like: 'Okay, this is very difficult to quantify, but if I happen to change that and make it more to my liking, then my feeling will likely be a lot better.' I did that on the Saturday afternoon, and the car was a lot better, but unfortunately, I cannot give more details."

🔵 Max Verstappen on Red Bull's expectations: “Let's see tomorrow, I don't know how we are going to perform. I don't know what to expect here to be honest.” On resetting after Silverstone: “Trying to fix current issues we have on the car, and yes, sometimes you get disappointed or upset after a race. But for example after Silverstone I went home, was back in the factory on Wednesday, ready to reset for the next race. In terms of my approach, nothing really changes. People come and go. That's how life is, how sport is as well. You just carry on.” On Antonelli: “I think when [Antonelli] was still in go-karting, you could see he was one of the stand out talents. And what was impressive, I always think you should do a few races in a shift category and learn how to use the gears. And he pulled it between the big guns and was so quick. For me, it was never in doubt that he would jump up and be consistently competitive. Your rookie season can be quite tough, but at the moment he is doing an amazing job.” 🔵 Alex Albon on Williams’ recent upgrades: “The last two races, other teams have brought upgrades. We had a small one in Silverstone, it worked. But the gap to the other midfield teams, we are bringing performance but not enough to fight with them. We are just behind, we started the year late, we started out upgrades late. We are in a rebuilding phase, we have a lot to do. It is frustrating, but it is patience, there is a lot going on behind the scenes.” ⚪ Esteban Ocon on his 10th anniversary in F1: “Crazy to think it has been 10 years, time flies. Feels like I have been here a couple of years. I was racing with the faces I knew from TV, Fernando [Alonso], Jenson [Button], Kimi Raikkonen. I must be doing a pretty good job as I am still here! We do have some new stuff coming this weekend as well.”
🔴 Charles Leclerc on his Silverstone win and finishing behind the safety car: “It feels good. The previous races I was struggling with the car, so it is good the hard work paid off. But it is only one track, I need to repeat that on other tracks. “I was very happy about the ending in Silverstone - but safety is the most important things in those moments. It is always a shame to finish a race to finish under a Safety Car. I think the right thing is the safest thing to do, no matter how it is for the show.” On Spa: “It is a very, very special track. It is a track we all enjoy as drivers. But it is a track where I lost a friend of mine, Anthoine, so he is always in my mind.” ⚪️ Kimi Antonelli on Silverstone: “[Silverstone] was a very strong weekend over all, so that was the positive - we were up there in all sessions, the pace was good and the momentum was still up there despite the difficulties. On my side, I just need to deliver. Maximise everything in my control, the rest - I cannot do much about it. Of course it is frustrating but this is motorsport, things like these happen.” On rating his season: “I wouldn't say [my season] was 10/10 for a few reasons. Australia, FP3 [crash], we couldn't set up for Qualifying. Then I would say Japan, yes I did win but I had a really bad start. We extended the stint and were lucky with the Safety Car. Miami Sprint, track limits. Barcelona, Qualifying mainly. Spielberg, Qualifying. I would say... 8.5/10.” On the pecking order: “Our car has been up there in every race so I expect it to be strong. But Ferrari were very fast at Silverstone so I expect them to be up there, especially in Qualifying where they always find something. And you can never write off Red Bull or McLaren.”
