Vowles on Alonso's role in Sainz-Piastri collision
Williams team principal James Vowles said Fernando Alonso contributed to Carlos Sainz's collision with Oscar Piastri because Alonso did not concede under blue flags as Piastri came to lap them. Vowles said: "Fernando had a number of blue flashing lights all the way through and in fact remained in position in front of Oscar. You have to do it in order, so Fernando should have conceded that position earlier. What happened is, he didn't."

F1 president and CEO Stefano Domenicali says Formula 1 is working on the “normal plan” to start the 2027 season, with the current intention to open in Bahrain and then Saudi Arabia, but it has alternatives if the Middle East situation is not resolved. Lewis Hamilton says Formula 1 stewards have been “inconsistent” over some penalties, after discussions about his five-second sanction for a false start at Silverstone. Hamilton said: "Silverstone was my fault; we did talk in the drivers' briefing about the fact that they're inconsistent with this stuff. There have been drivers in the past that have moved and haven't been penalised, and we discussed with them the fact that as long as you're not moving when the lights are on, you shouldn't be penalised because I wasn't out of my box, and they agreed. So they're looking into that."

Norris on stronger first half despite not leading championship
Lando Norris says he feels he has been driving better in the first half of this season than he was at the same stage last year, after winning the Hungarian Grand Prix. Norris said: "I think in terms of my driving, and my own performance as a driver, honestly, I'm very happy. I feel like I have been doing a good job of maximising the car's potential. I feel like I've driven better in this half of the season than I probably did to this point last year, to a certain extent, but sadly I'm not leading the championship."

McLaren team principal Andrea Stella says reigning world champion Lando Norris is “much more confident” at the start of the 2026 season, after the way he responded to the difficulties he faced early in 2025. Stella said: "I've been quite impressed by Lando following the way he has reacted to the first third of the season last year. There were highs and lows, there were some difficulties, there were clear learning points to review and learn from, and he embraced the challenge. What we see here is just the continuation of this trajectory, Lando is much more confident."

Antonelli on leading the championship at the summer break
Kimi Antonelli says he did not expect to be leading the drivers’ championship at the summer break and wants to keep learning and pushing when the season resumes at Zandvoort in late August. Antonelli said: "Well, for sure, I did not expect to find myself in this position. But the car has been extremely good, the team has done an incredible job and, on my side, I try to maximise every opportunity I have. Of course, there's still lots of work to do, lots to learn, but it was a good first half of the season. Now I'm looking forward to the second half, and we're just going to keep pushing."
