Wolff on Mercedes' ground-effect era constructors' results
Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff says the team’s four-season run without a constructors’ title after Formula 1’s ground-effect regulations began “isn’t catastrophic”, arguing Mercedes simply did the best it could with a car that was not capable of beating the teams at the front. Wolff said: "Realising we couldn't win in the past because the car was never good enough to beat whoever was in the front; it was Red Bull at times, and then it was McLaren at times... the best realistic target was P2 and P3, and this is what we achieved apart from one year [during the ground effects era]. And I think if you look back in 20, 30 years... you will see P1... P3, P2, P4, P2. So that isn't catastrophic."

Stella on balancing current car development with 2027 project
McLaren team principal Andrea Stella says it is easier this season to balance development of the current car with work on the 2027 project because the regulatory changes are relatively minor. Andrea Stella said: "In a sense, this year it is easier to find a middle ground between the two requirements. Whilst in 2025 we were faced with the need to strike a balance between two extremes – pushing right to the limit to win the world championship and having to design a new car practically from scratch – this year the transition between the two projects is much smoother, given that the regulatory changes are relatively minor."

Cadillac F1 CEO Dan Towriss says the decision to replace Graeme Lowdon with Marcin Budkowski as team principal came earlier than intended because he felt there was a “narrow window of opportunity” to shape what the team is building. Dan Towriss said: "Graeme and I always talked about that there would be a transition at some point. This decision was mine. And I think there's a very narrow window of opportunity. When you look at what we're building, there is an opportunity to build something new and innovative. What I didn't want to do was to build something that's already been done, something that's old and then try to improve it. So I think that the time for that change came sooner than was expected."
